Do you sometimes hesitate to make a quilt because you have trouble visualizing what the quilt will look like if you use different fabrics than are shown on the pattern cover?

This is my original Moon in the Window quilt pattern using Kona Bay Cottons. Yummy!

This is a new version using Kaufman’s Asian Batik fabrics.

A different look but very cool.

This is another one. My Many Paths pattern. The original version.

This is one of my favorite color choices using Hoffman California batiks. It was made a couple of years ago and these exact fabrics are no longer available.

This is an updated version using Kaufman’s Northwoods II Batiks. (This fabric will be available soon!)

Do you like it? I sure do.

But then I did another version…

I think it is one of my favorites. I love the blue and white look. Eww yea!

I love the “Eww yea!” you ended with…..Very nice! I teach beginners and intermediates and have yet to have two of their samplers even remotely similar. It’s great fun to see how their selections of fabrics pan out. They are encouraged to find a “focus fabric” they truly love and then select 4 to 5 “go with” fabrics to piece their blocks. Much fun!

Sometimes I see what other people do and then I think I need to make another one! Even reversing the light and dark as I did in the last to Many Paths can make a big difference. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Your quilts/crafts are so fantastic! It’s so nice to find other quilters all around the world!

  4. I have made several quilts using the Crazy Curves templates, and each one was more fun than the last. I love the templates!
