After Spring Market we spent a week in Virginia with La Donna and family.
My favorite spot to visit was Mount Vernon. I thought that I knew about the first President but a surprised to find out how very little I know.
George Washington was an amazing man who was also an inventor and farmer. He started an innovative crop rotation plan.
We toured the house and the grounds but what really ticked me was the “riding chair”.
Here is the little sign that describes the display. But it is exactly what it says – a riding chair.

How would you like to ride around on one of these?

As requested by Jane, a picture of La Donna’s quilt.
I only have a picture of it on the bed, complete with the matching pillow cases. The room looks like nobody lives there, because we were in the process of selling the house and making it look picture perfect.
The tan walls and faux leather drapes accented the quilt beautifully.
In case you missed it, this is basically a trip around the world design made for La Donna. This is one of the quilts in the new Crazy Curves Continues book. A simple pattern but still special. The fabric is by Northcott and really is as nice as silk.
