Yes, I am still here. This is Boaz and me up in Glacier Park enjoying the last straggling days of fall before winter gets here.

It has been a busy summer for me with Amanda staying home and taking care of her new baby. I am a one woman team again and that leaves me juggling everything at once so blogging has fallen to the bottom of the “to do” list. I hope to find a new helper soon and that will help.

Don and I took Sunday off to go into Glacier for a nice long 17 mile long trail ride up to Trout Lake. This was my view for most of the day.

My view is through two little ears. What a cutie!

I also got to see this view a lot. Look at that handsome guy.
Oh and the horse looks pretty good too!

We were stopped on the trail because we had to saw a couple logs that were blocking the trail. The horses can step over a lot of them but these two were too high and some manual labor was needed. I use the word we lightly. I just held my place in line while the sawing was done. Don ended up adding his man power to move the logs out of the way. There isn’t much room on the trail.

We also got to see this.

See that bit of snow at the top? Brrr. In a few more weeks that snow will multiply. There is so much snow that sometimes the trails are not even clear from the snow in July. I would like to go one more time to Glacier before the weather really changes.

I have a lot to share from my busy summer. New quilts and patterns. I have not been idle for one second. See the new link at the side. I have another block in Quiltmaker’s and the blog tour will begin in November. Say tuned for more details.

We took a quick camping trip with some of our grand kids.

Taking little ones camping is a lot of work but well worth it. This is a photo taken during our hike in Glacier Park. We did a very short hike and then played in the river. And then ate some more.

This is Zachary learning to skip rocks with Pa Pa.

He sure is a Happy Camper!

The whole camping experience was a lot of fun. Roasting our food over the fire and sleeping in tents.

My fourth of July was super. My sister came down from Canada to visit along with three of her kiddos. On the 3rd we started the festivities by going to a friends house on one of the many lakes around here and watched a great show and ate some good food. On the 4th we watched a parade in the morning and then went to the lake to watch the big fireworks put on by the city.

The big kids and little kids alike were all very tired!

Remember this from about a year ago? I finally ordered an Easy Display Quilt Hanger while I was at Quilt Market in May. I like the way it moves the quilt out from the wall a bit so it doesn’t look so flat.

I ordered two of them. The neat thing is that you don’t have to have a sleeve on your quilt. It uses magnets to attach the quilt to the back of the wooden rod. Nifty!

And I can easily change quilts or rotate the quilt.

Remember the bump?

He should be arriving any day now so Amanda will not be around to do my shipping for awhile. (sniff)

So I am switching over my online ordering to Quilter’s Warehouse. They will fill all of my retail orders. I will see how it goes for a month to make sure there isn’t a lot of confusion. I think they will do a great job and then I will have one less thing gone from my “to do” list.

And I plan to be taking a bit of a break from the blog. I have a lot to say on here but I have trouble finding the time to say it. :-)

It is going to be a busy summer and it is zooming quickly by. I hope you are having a great summer and do stop by now and then. Sign up on the RSS feeder so that you know when I make a post.
And do say Hi. I LOVE to hear from you.

As I have mentioned before my BFF and office assistant Amanda, is having a baby. (Very soon! and I am so happy for her, sniff, sniff)

Another talented friend, Carrie, LOVES to throw baby showers based upon a theme. Carrie threw a shower for Amanda and it was hosted at my house and I was privileged to be able to help just a wee bit.
The theme was taken from Pioneer Woman because Amanda has her own Heels to Wheels love story. A little bit of city meets a little bit of country.

You can see many more pictures on Carrie’s Blog and get a glimmer of her creative talent.

I have yet to purchase deck furniture, (we have only lived here four years so what is the rush?) and so I had a little fun by using hay bales and quilts. I was a bit nervous using the quilts on the hay bales so I chose some older ones. But they worked out great and no damage to the quilts. I will definitely use this idea again.

A little bit of rustic flowers for the deck railing. I used empty paint cans and fabric. And look, another quilt in the background.

Miss Kitty liked the hay bales too.

We had to come dressed as either a city girl or a country girl.

Can you figure out which one I chose? Country girl ALL the way. Me showing off my “new” chaps. I got them used at the Saddle Exchange and they fit. A sure sign that I was meant to buy them.

And if you don’t believe opposites attract. We couldn’t be more different. I am always puzzled why people would think we are related? She is so darn cute.

The next morning found Goldie cuddled up on the hay bales. I had put her dog bed elsewhere for the party and neglected to bring it back out. Lacking a bed she chose to use what was available.

The funny thing is that Goldie does not like to cuddle or share her bed. Miss Kitty on the other hand would love to cuddle up next to Goldie. This is her getting as close as she dares.

So cute!

I am not sure what I will do when Amanda is home taking care of baby. She is going to be such a good mama.

My little angel celebrated her 2nd birthday on May 5th.

She had a Cinco De Mayo party with all of her little friends. Her mother, my daughter, likes to decorate the house and serve delicious mexican food and make it a fun celebration.

She was the perfect little hostess. She was already wearing her stylish little embroidered dress and every gift she opened that was wearable, she made sure to put it on.

She received some cool sunglasses and added those. I got her some little boots and she promptly put those on. She opened up a red beaded necklace and had to wear that too.
She looks like something that came out of the 60′s. LOL!

Addison has a lot of food allergies too so no regular ice cream is allowed, but she was able to enjoy some chocolate coconut milk ice cream. And boy is it ever good!

And she didn’t want to waste a single drop by using a spoon.

What a delight to watch her enjoy herself.

Happy Birthday Addison!
